Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Tuesday attended a meeting at the State House, on crutches.
The meeting was between President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) APC Governor’s Forum.
A regular face around Aso Rock, Bello insisted on joining members of the forum led by Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State at the session with the president in spite of his discomfort.
The 42-year-old attracted the attention of his colleagues and others when he arrived the Council Chambers, venue of the meeting, on crutches.
He was, however, missing in the official photographs released by the Presidency after the meeting.
The governor had earlier confirmed injuring his leg while alighting from a vehicle on Friday.
Bello made the confirmation through a statement released by his spokesmen, Kingsley Fanwo, on Tuesday.
The statement was released to refute speculations that the governor was hospitalised and incapacitated.
“The Governor missed his footing last Friday, March 30, 2018 while alighting from a vehicle and injured his left foot. He was treated by his doctors, who bandaged the leg and discharged him.
“We thank all the Governor’s supporters and well-wishers who reached us to inquire after his wellbeing. His Excellency is doing very well and will be at work as usual after the Easter holidays,” the statement said.
