Fabio Capello has revealed he has retired from football as he brings his illustrious managerial career to an end.
The 71-year-old had a lengthy spell as England boss between 2007-2012, while also being in charge of the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and AC Milan.
Capello was recently in charge of Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning, but sensationally quit the club in March just three games into the season.
This led him to be linked with the Italian national job as the Azzurri seek a successor following the departure of Gian Piero Ventura.
But Capello has ruled himself out of the running, as he claims his experience in the Far East was the last time he would be at the helm of a club.
He told Radio Rai: “Italy’s bench? I have already said no.
“I’ve already had some experience with the English and Russian national teams.
“I did everything I wanted, I’m very happy with what I did, and now I am delighted to be a TV commentator. You always win in this role!”
Capello – a four-time Serie A winner with Juventus and Milan during his playing days – added five Scudetto championships to his trophy cabinet as a manager.
