Forgotten Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye, believes he could sneak into Nigeria’s World Cup squad because Gernot Rohr is quite aware of his potentials.
The Malaga goal banger featured in Rohr’s squad that shocked the Chipolopolo of Zambia in the first match of the World Cup qualification series and was instrumental to the team’s success in that game.
Since that epic victory in Ndola, Ideye has not been seen anywhere near the Super Eagles.
With barely two months to the start of the biggest football spectacle, the ex-West Brom star is still confident of finding his way to Russia.
“Having played and trained with the team, the coach knows me very well and what I can do,” Ideye was quoted by AOIFootball.
“I believe I have what it takes to help the team, especially in the attack.”
Rohr’s team struggled to get the goals in the last two games with only a Victor Moses’ penalty earning them the famous win over Poland in Wroclaw.
He is expected to name his 35-man provisional list on the May 14.
