Super Eagles star, Olarenwaju Kayode, has left Premier League champions, Manchester City, after just one year without making any appearance.
Kayode, 25, joined City last term from Austria Vienna in a £3.5 million deal after a stellar season which yielded 17 goals.
The ex-Heartland forward spent the first half of the season on loan at Girona in La Liga and completed it Shakhtar Donetsk.
Now the Nigerian has been snapped by the Ukraine champions permanently on a five-year contract.
“Kayode will continue to play for Shakhtar,” the club’s general director, Sergei Palkin, told Shakhtar’s official website. “We have [exercised our option to sign him] from Manchester City, and he has signed a five-year contract.
“He proved himself well, [Shakhtar head coach] Paulo [Fonseca] is pleased with him.”
Kayode was snubbed by Gernot Rohr for the World Cup.
