Super Eagles players are obviously still saddened by the team’s 2-1 defeat to Argentina which ended their World Cup campaign.
The usual fun-loving lads have suddenly gone AWOL on social media.
Just a handful gathered the nerves to make any posts following the disappointing exit.
Skipper Mikel Obi, alongside midfield cohorts Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo, as well as William Troost-Ekong, managed to break the ice.
This was what they had to say on Twiter.
We fought until the end and we are all hurting with you. Your support has driven us throughout the World Cup and we cannot thank you enough. 🇳🇬💚 pic.twitter.com/qoeAW79d9t

This was one of the toughest games of my career. The result didn’t go our way however I am truly honored and blessed to have this experience. To represent my country at a World Cup competing with the best players in the world at my age was a dream come true 🇳🇬 pic.twitter.com/zxtuXl11Np

Hard to describe in words how that felt. It was an emotional rollercoaster. We gave everything against Argentina last night. I’m grateful and proud to have represented Nigeria and all Nigerians at this World Cup. But most of all I am humbled and thank God for bringing me this far pic.twitter.com/JpUnuvmpTb
