Award-winning singer, Davido, paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ooni of Ife in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and he went down flat on the floor to greet him.
In a post to Instagram on Sunday, Davido shared pictures of his visit as he is seen seated on the floor beside the king.
“Ile Labosimi Oko.. Daddy eshe fun gbogbo Ife teni Si mi Ekpe fun wa.. igbaodun Odun kan niooo .. Proud to be the Son of the soil! Thank You, My KING,” he wrote.
Davido is the son of Adedeji Adeleke, founder and president of Adeleke University, Ede in Osun State.
His uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is the senator representing Osun-west senatorial district at the National Assembly.
Last month, Davido, 25, was named best international act at the 2018 BET Awards held at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA.
He saw off competition from compatriot, Tiwa Savage; Booba from France; Cassper Nyovest of South Africa; Fally Ipupa of Congo and Stefflon Don of the United Kingdom to win the award.
