Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi, has thanked the Nigeria Police Force for their prompt intervention in rescuing his father, Pa Michael Obi, kidnapped by hoodlums.
Mikel’s dad was abducted hours before Nigeria faced Argentina in Enugu on June 26 while on his way to a funeral.
The former Chelsea player was asked to pay N10 million to secure his release
Michael was freed unharmed after a gun duel by the Police and the hoodlums.
Mikel was glad about the work of the NPF, thanking everyone who showed concern during the trying period.
It was the second time in seven years such has happened.
The Tianjin TEDA skipper also revealed that his dad is healthy with family.
He made this known through his Twitter handle on Tuesday.
