Kenneth Omeruo’s Chelsea future appears to be over after the Nigerian was ignored from the club’s squad list released on Monday.
Omeruo joined the Blues in 2012 from Standard Liege but is yet to make an official appearance for the Premier League giants.
The 24-year-old has spent the last five seasons away from Stamford Bridge – three of those in Turkey.
It was believed that his fine form for the Super Eagles at the World Cup in Russia would appeal to Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte.
However, the Italian tactician isn’t looking at his direction.
Omeruo’s name was not added to Chelsea’s first-team squad, fueling speculation that he is set to be farmed out on loan before the window shuts, and if that is the case he will train with Chelsea loanees when he reports for pre-season.
Meanwhile, his compatriots Victor Moses and Ola Aina made the cut.
Moses, who will not train with Chelsea due to his participation in the ongoing World Cup, will retain the number 15 jersey he used last season when he reports for pre-season training before the trip to Australia.
Aina, on the other hand, who sported with 34 when he made his debut for the Stamford Bridge outfit against Bristol Rovers in August 2016 and has been handed that same number for pre-season.
