Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, met with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Nigeria, Amine Mati, and Deputy Division Chief, Charalambos Tsangarides, in Abuja Monday.
The meeting comes amidst damning media reports that Mrs Adeosun forged her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate.
PREMIUM TIMES on Saturday published a story detailing how the 51-year-old skipped the mandatory national service and forged an exemption certificate to cover for it.
The story generated outrage from Nigerians, especially opposition politicians, who called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack and prosecute her.
Neither the Presidency nor the minister has denied the allegation of forged certificate.
The NYSC in a statement by its director of public relations, Adenike Adeyemi, on Monday said it will “investigate the origin of the purported Exemption Certificate in question”.
