Nollywood actress and producer, Ego Boyo, has added her voice to the debate on the sponsorship of foreign movies by Nigerian banks and other corporate organisations.
Elaborate red carpet premieres have been held in Nigeria for Hollywood movies like Black Panther and Ocean 8 in 2018 alone.
The multi-million naira events attended by Nigerian celebrities were generously sponsored by Nigerian banks without any interest shown by the producers of such films.
That got Ego wondering and she posted her thought on Twitter on Saturday.
“Just wondering why some Nigerian banks and corporate organisations sponsor premieres of foreign films.
“No notice or interest from Hollywood or the producers of those films, no appearance by the stars nada,” she wrote.
