Former Super Eagles coach, Christian Chukwu, believes Victor Moses has the right to quit the national team.
Moses shockingly retired from international football after just six years and 37 caps aged 27.
The Chelsea star was one of his country’s senior players and was expected to continue with the Eagles for the foreseeable future.
His decision to quit has come as a huge surprise but Moses has Chukwu’s backing.
Chukwu, a former captain, who led the team to its first Africa Cup of Nations title in 1980, says the decision should be read from the player’s personal opinion and not from the age.
“Victor Moses is a very vibrant and young player, so he has the right to take decisions for himself,” he told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“He knows his body more than any person, therefore, it is best known to him why he retired and we wish him well.”
