The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old housewife for allegedly stabbing her husband to death at Agbarha-Otor town in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect, Ese Erigarhe, who is being detained at the Ughelli Police Area Command for suspected homicide is alleged to have used a kitchen knife to stab the man when he returned home.
She is alleged to have confronted her husband with the allegation of extramarital affair, which led to an argument between the two.
The police at the Ughelli Area Command confirmed the incident saying, “The woman stabbed the man in the throat when they were fighting. She claimed to have done it while trying to defend herself during the fight.
“She accused the husband of having extramarital affairs and returning home late. At the time she rushed the man to the Ughelli Central Hospital for medical attention the husband had lost too much blood and he could not be resuscitated. The woman is still being interrogated.”
This is the latest in a series of women killing their husbands over alleged extramarital affairs.
Damilola Ayeni, a 23-year-old housewife, allegedly stabbed her husband, Olumide, to death at their house on Bamgbose Street, Lagos Island over suspicion of infidelity on August 6.
While a female lawyer, Udeme Odibi, is accused of stabbing her husband, Udeme Odibi, to death at Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, Ajah area of the state and Abimbola Olamide, a teacher, allegedly stabbed her husband, Dare Akinbobola, to death at their residence in Ikorodu.
