The 2018 African Magic Viewers Choice Award (AMVCA) was held on Saturday at the Eko Hotel Convention Center in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event saw celebrities from every sphere of the entertainment industry in Nigeria grace the occasion.
However, some celebrities such as Genevieve, Tonto Dikeh, Adesua Etomi and Ramsey Nouah didn’t make this year’s edition.
Below we look at 10 big names missing from the event.
- Richard Mofe Damijo
Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, is regarded as one of the most handsome actors in the Nollywood business. RMD is known for his smart dressing and it is no secret that he would have looked dapper on the red carpet.
2. Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh is one of the most talked about celebrities in Nigeria and you cannot take anything away from her when it comes to looking stunning on the red carpet. Lovers of the actress would have been disappointed that she did not show up for the awards.
3. Genevieve Nnaji
Regarded as one of the best actresses in the country, Genevieve Nnaji has always been a no-show at the AMVCAs and it didn’t come as a surprise when she didn’t show up this time. It would be nice to see Genevieve shock fans and critics by attending of these awards.
4. Kate Henshaw
One can only speculate as to why the 40-year-old did not make the show, but it will come as a disappointment to lovers of the Stronger than Pain actress that she missed the occasion.
5. Omoni Oboli
Omoni Oboli is known to know how to enjoy herself as she was recently on vacation in Dubai with a number of her colleagues. It is no doubt that if she had been at this year’s AMVCA she would have captivated people with her dress.
6. Kunle Afolayan
The renowned filmmaker is currently working on his new movie titled Mokalik, it is easy to see why he did not make the occasion as he is putting together a masterpiece that might probably win an award at the show next year.
7. Ramsey Nouah
The 10 Days in Atlanta actor is one of the finest men in the entertainment industry. It would have been nice to see the actor grace the Red Carpet looking as fine as ever.
8. Mercy Aigbe
Since becoming one of the biggest names in Nollywood, Mercy Aigbe has taken her acting prowess to the length and breadth of the country. Mercy is known to be a fashionista, lovers of the actress could only imagine how breathtaking she would have been if had attended the event.
9. Sola Sobowale
One of the veterans in the industry, Sola absence didn’t come much as a surprise because Sola isn’t one of those celebrities who make such events a big deal.
10. Adesua Etomi
Adesua’s absence was more of a surprise to fans as she was present for the AMVCA nominees party. There could have been a reason for her absence but never the less, fans would have been disappointed that she didn’t make the event.
