Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, may not have gotten on the score sheet against Vorskla in the Europa League yet his showing received rare plaudits.
Iwobi has always cut a divisive figure among Gooners despite his relatively young age and progress.
But in Thursday’s 4-2 victory at the Emirates, the Nigerian’s game impressed the faithful.
Starting for the first time since recovering from an illness, Iwobi beautifully set up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the opener around the half-hour mark.
Danny Welbeck, Mesut Ozil and another from the Gabon skipper wrapped things up for the English side.
Two late goals from the visitors through Volodimir Chesnakov and Vyacheslav Sharpar didn’t really count.
It was, however, another sad day for Victor Moses who didn’t get a look against PAOK.
Here’s what Arsenal fans had to say about their own Nigerian on Twitter.
Have to say, Iwobi really seems to be benefitting from working with Emery. He’s been bright and lively whenever he’s played this season. Good to see. So much potential that needs releasing in him.

Unpopular opinion: Alex Iwobi has actually been a different player this season. Has his promise back.

Iwobi looks so rejuvenated and looking like a player full of confidence. Playing like the Iwobi from 15/16. Naija Messi in the cut‼️‼️

Iwobi and Mkhitaryan both having excellent games today. Will give Emery quite a selection headache in terms of how he wants to shape his attack.

We need to play Mkhi and Iwobi on either side of Auba with Ozil at #10. Probably our best lineup

Alex Iwobi had 5 killer passes in the match. I honestly don’t know where that ranks but usually you don’t see a player with more than 2-3 in one match.

Iwobi looks like a different player, Fitter, stronger, wants to be involved! I like it!

Iwobi is a different animal under Emery – who else noticed he seems much more physical and maybe even quicker??

Loving iwobi this season. Last season he’d have take extra touches and tried to cut in. This season, one touch, good cross, goal.
