Nigeria’s national female basketball team, the D’Tigress, Tuesday, defeated Argentina to advance to the second-round at the ongoing FIBA World Cup in Spain.
Otis Hughley’s side upset the heavyweights 75-70 to claim the second spot from Group B.
The Nigerian ladies consolidated on their first victory at the event against Turkey to outwit the South Americans.
They are now the first African team to win two matches at a single World Cup.
Their reward is a clash with Greece, with the winner scheduled to do battle against the United States.
