Rinsola Abiola, daughter of the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Moshood Abiola, has declared her intention to contest the 2019 House of Representatives election.
Ms Abiola, who renounced her membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in August, plans to contest on the Action Democratic Party (ADP) platform.

The former aide of the Speaker of the House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, added that the “decision was reached after months of careful thought and extensive consultations, and is predicated upon the strong conviction that my people deserve dutiful representation.”
If elected, she said her areas of focus shall include health care, agriculture, youth and women empowerment and restructuring through constitution amendment.
