A senatorial candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ondo State, Jide Ipinsagba, was on Wednesday evening abducted by unknown gunmen along Ikare-Owo Road.
Ondo ADC publicity secretary, Idowu Akinrinlola, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Thursday morning.
According to him, the Ondo North senatorial candidate was abducted alongside three other chieftains of the party including the driver of their vehicle.
Mr Akinrinlola said the victims were abducted at Oba Akoko area of the expressway while they were heading to Akure from Ikare-Akoko, where they had attended a political meeting.
When contacted, Ondo police Public relations officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident and said the command had begun an investigation, affirming that search for the victims had also commenced.
