President Goodluck Jonathan left Abuja on Wednesday afternoon for Malabo, Equatorial Guinea to participate in the 23rd Ordinary Session of the African Union’s Summit of Heads of State and Government.
President Jonathan and other African leaders participating in the Summit will also deliberate on the appointment of Judges of the African Court of Justice, the appointment of Judges of the African Human Rights Court of Justice and the appointment of the President and Vice President of the Pan-African University.
The African Heads of State and Government will also consider and adopt the decisions and recommendations of the 25th Regular Session of the African Union’s Executive Board and the Declarations of the 23rd Ordinary Session of the Conference of the Union.
A statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Reuben Abati, said Jonathan who was accompanied by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aminu Wali, the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina , the Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment, Dr. Olusegun Aganga, the Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe and the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu is expected back in Abuja at the conclusion of the Summit on Friday.
