World football governing body, FIFA, seemed utterly excited after the Super Eagles sealed qualification for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday.
The three-time African champions played out a 1-1 draw with South Africa in Johannesburg to reach their first continental championship in five years.
Gernot Rohr’s side picked the ticket with a game to spare against Seychelles.
FIFA immediately rushed off to Twitter to congratulate the Nigerians.
“The Super Eagles are flying again, ” they wrote.
“Having spread their wings in Russia, the Super Eagles have gone and clinched qualification for the 2019 AFCON thanks to a 1-1 draw with Bafana Bafana. It will be their first time at the continental championship since 2013.”

As with the World Cup, the Super Eagles have qualified for #AFCON2019 with a game to spare, with minimal fuss.
Till date, we’ve suffered just one loss to any African team under Rohr.
But, to some pseudo-tactician Naija journalists, Rohr isn’t “tactically sound”. LMAO#RSANGA

#RSANGA #AFCON2019Q Super Eagles of Nigeria qualified for the #AFCON2019Q with a 1-1 draw against South Africa. This time around they made a beneficial use of Ýour Destiny is in your Hands’. Thank God we will not wait for any permutation to qualify.
