Two people in Osun State found with a human head, two hands and human flesh have been remanded in prison by an Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife.

Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode on Monday refused the oral bail applications of the accused and ordered their counsels Lere Ayinde and Niyi Kosile to file a written application.

48-year-old Supo Bamidele and 51-year-old Amos Suleiman are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and being in possession of human parts.

Mr Ijiyode remanded the accused in Ile-Ife Prisons and adjourned the case until January 31 for mention.

The prosecutor Christian Olajide told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 31, 2018, at 4:30 pm at Ondo Road Area, Ile-Ife.

“The accused could not give satisfactory account of how they came about human head, two hands, human flesh which we suspected was to be used for rituals,” Mr Olajide added.

Olajide said the offence contravened 242 (1), (b) 329A, and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Osun 2002.
