Pop musician Simisola Ogunleye popularly known as Simi claimed the prize for music at The Future Awards Africa 2018 held on Sunday at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
Youth advocate Samson Itodo was the biggest winner of the night as he won the Young Person of the Year 2018 award for his work as leader of the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth & Advancement (YIAGA) which focuses on youth participation in governance.
The 13th edition of the awards was hosted by ex-Big Brother Nigeria housemate, Tobi Bakre and media personality Bolanle Olukanni.
Some of the stars in attendance included Jumoke Adenowo, Mo Abudu, Zainab Balogun, Alex Ekubo and Mercy Johnson.
The event had 100 nominees in 20 categories selected for inspiring works and initiatives.
Nominees included innovators, philanthropists, activists, technocrats and creators.
