Singer and actress, Dionne Warwick, is allegedly threatening to boycott Bobbi Kristina’s ‘sweet 16-themed’ funeral because she is offended by the idea.
Family and friends of the aspiring 22-year-old only daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston are set to say farewell to her on Saturday at a ceremony in Alpharetta, Georgia.
But the Brown and Houston families are still at war and Whitney’s cousin Dionne disapproves of Bobbi’s aunt Pat Houston turning it into a ‘school prom party’, according to MailOnline.
Dionne is said to resent Pat acting like she is the head of the Houston family when in reality she married into the family.
A source said: “Dionne is planning a trip and threatening to not attend the funeral because Pat Houston is taking over even though she should be making decisions with Bobby and not doing it on her own.”
The family of the 22-year-old aspiring singer, who died at a hospice after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at her home near Atlanta on January 31, will gather to mourn and celebrate her life at St. James United Methodist Church.
She will then be buried next to her late mother at Fairview Cemetery in New Jersey.
After Bobbi’s death, Dionne, 74, paid tribute on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live show, saying: “She was a sweetheart, she will be missed, she was a good girl.
“It’s not easy. It’s [manageable] because of our faith that Bobbi is with a much bigger and more powerful person, or thing, that she’s in much better hands now.”
Speaking about the plans for the sad day, a family source told Entertainment Tonight that Bobbi Kristina never had a sweet 16 party or a school prom and said her funeral will be a celebration and “the Sweet 16 she never had”.
Some family members are, however, questioning suggestions that donations should be sent to The Marion P. Foundation, a charity run by Bobbi Pat Houston, benefiting troubled teens.
Leolah Brown, the deceased’s other aunt, claims Pat is just lining her personal bank account and she’s asking people not to send “ONE RED CENT!” to the charity.
According to Leolah, Pat is “not the sweet quiet person that she’s tried so hard to make people believe she was.”
Leolah goes on: “The truth is being exposed by a BROWN! And she would have never thought in a million years it would come like this. She is actually in shock right now:) because a Brown is usually silent.”
The Fulton County Medical Examiner released Bobbi’s remains at approximately noon on Tuesday, after completing an autopsy to determine an official cause of death.
A source told UsMagazine.com that family members, including Bobbi Kristina’s devastated father Bobby, were originally hoping to hold the funeral earlier, but pushed it back to enable all of her loved ones to attend.
Medical examiners plan to perform additional testing, but so far it appears there were no signs of foul play.
