Few days after Daily Asset Newspaper named him Governor of the Year, Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has now been named Daily Independent Newspaper’s Man of the Year.
Bayelsa State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said the governor will be decorated with the award on Thursday at the Eko Convention Centre at a ceremony in Lagos.
In a statement released in Yenagoa, Mr Iworiso-Markson disclosed that prominent leaders of the South-South Zone including former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, will be on ground to cheer Mr Dickson as he picks the prestigious award.
He said Mr Ibori and other leaders have indicated their interest to attend the event in solidarity with Dickson for his achievements in office in the last seven years which has made Bayelsa the right destination for business, investment and leisure.
Dickson was in 2018 honoured by prestigious organisations like Daar Communication, Silverbird Group, The Nation Newspaper, Leadership Newspaper, New Telegraph Newspaper, amongst others.
The organisations at various times nominated and conferred on the governor awards in health, good governance, agriculture, education, accountability, and infrastructural development.
