Reacting to the death of the monarch in a chat with journalists in Lagos, Obasa described the late Sijuwade as a monarch who always desired the best not only for his people but also for Nigerians in general. “He was a bridge-builder who always want the best for his people and Nigerians in general,” he said.
The Speaker also stated that the revered monarch died at a time Nigeria needs him to play a fatherly role in assisting the nation to surmount the various challenges facing it.
“Yes, this is the time the country needs his fatherly role especially as government at all levels march graciously to tackle the various challenges facing it. But the ultimate decision lies with God Almighty and He has decided to take away Ooni at this time, as human, we don’t have the power to question God,” he said.
