Davido didn’t sell out O2 Arena, UK newspaper claims

A United Kingdom newspaper, The Guardian, has reported that pop musician, Davido, did not record full capacity during his concert at the O2 Arena in London on Sunday.

In a review published on Monday, the newspaper reported that the 26-year-old singer “nearly sold out the O2, a considerable leap toward the mainstream – and for Afrobeats itself.”

This is contradictory to Davido’s claim on social media that he sold out the iconic arena.

American rapper, Russ Millions, who performed at the concert corroborated the newspaper’s claim.

Russ, in a post on Instagram on Monday, said the 20k capacity arena only got 17,000 guests.

Davido set a record by becoming the youngest African act to headline a concert at the O2 Arena in London.

Members of Davido’s DMW record label – Peruzzi, Mayorkun, Yonda, Idowest and Dremo – whetted the appetite of the eager audience.

Victor AD and Zlatan Ibile also performed at the concert.

The concert was attended by Hollywood actor Idris Elba and British super model Naomi Campbell.
