American rapper, Cardi B, has deactivated her Instagram account after backlash over her historic Grammy win on Sunday.
The 26-year-old musician deleted the account on Tuesday after fans repeatedly told her that she didn’t deserve to win Best Rap Album of the Year award.
Cardi B first deleted a post defending the work she put in while creating her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, before deactivating the account.
Cardi B became the first solo female artiste to win best rap album in Grammy History.
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ singer won the award ahead of other rap heavyweights like Travis Scott, Pusha T and the late Mac Miller.
Nigeria’s Seun Kuti was nominated in the ‘World Music’ category, which he lost to South Africa’s Soweto Gospel Choir.
