As campaigns end on Thursday (today), the two leading contenders for the presidency, Muhammadu Buhari and Atiku Abubakar, have scheduled to stage their presidential rallies in their home states.
While Buhari will be having his final rally in Katsina, Atiku is billed to hold his in Adamawa.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has opted to cancel its planned rally in Ogun State due to factionalisation of the party in the state.
While Ladi Adebutu has the backing of the PDP national leadership, Senator Buruji Kashamu is the INEC-recognised candidate for the Ogun governorship election.
PDP spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, confirmed the cancellation and that of Abuja.
“Yes, it is true that we have cancelled the rallies in Abuja and Ogun. We cancelled that of Abuja in order to avoid clashes with our opponent,” he said.
