Mixed reactions have followed the threat by President Muhammadu Buhari to have the military and police deal “ruthlessly” with ballot box snatchers.
Mr Buhari had said on Monday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting in Abuja that he had instructed the police and military “to be ruthless” adding that “anybody who thinks he has enough influence in his locality to lead a body of thugs to snatch ballot boxes or disturbs the voting system will do so at the expense of his own life.”
Some appear pleased with the statement which they say would deter hoodlums from causing mayhem during elections.
Others say the statement was irresponsible of the president.
