Iniobong Ekong, the Senior Special Adviser on Security Matters to Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Emmanuel, has been abducted.
Ekong was allegedly picked at midnight on Friday by soldiers.
Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Information, Charles Udoh, confirmed the development on Saturday morning.
Udoh added that Mr Emmanuel’s aide is being held incommunicado at an unknown location in Port Harcourt.
When contacted, Akwa Ibom police spokesperson, Odiko McDon, said the police was yet to receive such information.
