Popular UK boy band, One Direction, will embark on an extended break starting March 2016.

According to The Sun reports, the band is taking a break so they can work on individual projects for a while but they are not splitting up.

Members Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan will pursue their endeavours and solo careers while remaining very close.

Rumour of their split started after former fifth member of the band Zayn Malik left in March, 2015.

The X Factor UK alumnus announced that he was leaving the group in hopes of being a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.

In June, the band denied any rumour of splitting up when they confirmed that they’ll continue as a four-man-band. It looks like they’ve been some changes in their plan.

There’ll be no tour for the band’s fifth album and their last full concert will be at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena on October 31.

One Direction signed with Simon Cowell’s label, Syco Records, after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor UK in 2010.
