Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said he would not call to congratulate the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had early on Wednesday pronounced Mr Buhari president-elect after he polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Atiku, who scored 11,262,978 votes.
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, the former vice president explained that he would have called Buhari if he had lost in a free and fair election.
Atiku wrote, “If I had lost in a free and fair election, I would have called the victor within seconds of my being aware of his victory to offer not just my congratulations, but my services to help unite Nigeria by being a bridge between the North and the South…”
