A Federal High Court in Kano has nullified the primary election that led to emergence of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Kano, Abba Yusuf.
Mr Yusuf is the son-in-law of former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The judge, Lewis Allagoa, ruled on Monday that Yusuf’s candidacy was null and void as the PDP did not conduct governorship primary election in the state.
A PDP governorship aspirant, Ali Amin-little, had approached the court, challenging the process that led to Yusuf’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the governorship election in Kano.
