In an unexpected twist, Baddosneh wrote a love song that people are falling in love with for the right reasons.
‘Melo Melo’ appreciates a woman who stood by her man despite all odds.
According to the chorus:
I no dey denge denge I no dey pose eh
My baby give me biscuit I want sugar
The things you do me, bi’ojo ba ro kose wi
Bi’orun baran, bi’orun ba’ran ko se so
Melo melo, melo melo la fe wi
Melo melo, melo melo la fe so
Ani Melo melo, melo melo la fe wi
Melo melo, melo melo la fe so
Summary of the lyrics in English is “I’m not proud; what you’ve done for me can’t be quantified”
The first verse melts many ladies’ heart, little wonder it is now a theme song at marriage proposals and weddings.
Eyin fun jowo, eyin mu’enugun
Apon bepo re mi, akonke igi leyin ogba mi
Nigba kosowo, nigba ko siola, nigba ko soro
Ti aye romipin you stood by me
I know I make some mistakes but I don dey regret
Now I no go forget to cherish wetin I get
The first day we met I told you how I felt
Walahi I dey melt, my baby you’re the best.
It’s one thing for a man to admit to his mistakes, it’s another thing to make your woman know she is the best. Olamide slayed this verse in all ramifications.
We thought the ‘Lagos Boys’ singer had nothing else to say after another chorus but his second verse shows that a man that poses as someone that can party hard is also appreciative of women especially his own woman.
Many fans are under the impression that he wrote the song for his long-time girlfriend and mother of his son, Aisha Suleiman.
His lyrics said more than enough:
For better for worse, for rich and for poor
Ko si elomiran afi iwo nikan
Igba ti mo’n hustle, ti mo’n squat takunle
Ti mo darinka jabata, ti mo’n fie se sha labule
Shebi iwo lorimi and you showed me love regardless
Them other ladies them no dey send me at first
I know you make some mistakes now you don dey regret
Now you no go forget to cherish wetin you get
This song is like an anthem for every lady that ever stood by her man during his worst days.
This is by far one of the best songs the award-winning rapper ever did. Not because it is a love song, but because despite being known as a wild boy, he changed his tune and type of music to deliver perfection.
