A 23-year-old woman, Oluchukwu Ezeobi, has lost her life after she was stabbed by unknown assailants in Awka, Anambra State.
Ms Ezeobi was having her usual morning walk around Emma Nnaemeka area within Ziks Avenue, Awka, on February 12 when two men accosted her and ordered her to let go of her phone.
A source said she resisted them, prompting the men to engage her in a struggle.
She was stabbed severally and left in a pool of blood as her assailants made away with the phone.
Anambra police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, said he got confirmation of the development from the Divisional Police Officer of the Central Police Station in Awka, who told him that the incident took place at about 6:30 am that day.
The Command has begun investigation into the incident.
Reports say the deceased will be buried in her hometown Nanka, Orumba North local government area of Anambra State on March 13.
