Senator Andy Uba and his younger brother, Chris, have petitioned the Anambra Election Petitions Tribunal over the result of the National Assembly election for Anambra South.
Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) defeated incumbent senator, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his brother Chris of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to become senator-elect for Anambra South.
The Uba brothers filed separate petitions against Ubah’s victory.
While Uba petitioned against Ubah, returning officer (RO) for Anambra South, resident electoral commissioner (REC) in Anambra and INEC, Chris included in his petition Ubah, RO, REC and LGA collation officers in the district.
Tribunal secretary, Falilat Orire, told NAN that petitions were still pouring into the tribunal.
Victor Umeh of APGA had included in his petition Uche Ekwunife of the PDP, PDP itself, INEC and the returning officer for Anambra Central senatorial district election as defendants.
Tony Onyekwelu of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) also filed a petition against Mrs Ekwunife.
Stella Oduah of PDP has three petitions filed against her victory in Anambra North.
