Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, Tonobok Okowa, has said that the state has mechanisms in place to control the crowd expected for the Super Eagles match on Friday.
The game against Seychelles will be played at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Delta State by 4:00 p.m.
Okowa promised the safety of fans coming to watch the match against the East African country.
“We want people to come out and cheer them, but we guess we will have a surge. However, we have put mechanism in place to control the crowd and the traffic will be put under check throughout the period of the match.
“We have good security architecture in place to manage the situation,” he said.
The sport administrator has expressed the interest of the Delta Government to have the Super Eagles play more matches in Asaba.
He added that the team’s handlers seemed comfortable with the Delta capital city’s hosting capabilities and facilities.
Nigeria have already booked a place in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019 tournament.
Seychelles were defeated 3-0 by the Super Eagles in the first leg of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
