Nollywood actor, Femi Adebayo, has revealed that he never does Nigerian time, popularly used to refer to starting or arriving at events after the stipulated time.
The 40-year-old actor said this in an Instagram post on Thursday as he shared an experience visiting a school for a speaking obligation.
“For some reasons that were out of my control, I got to this seminar late. My manager @justdistinguish always says Femi is one person that will never do Nigerian time no matter the distance I’m coming from.
“This one really pained me though because my event in Lagos started pretty late… Nigerian time factor.. I drove from Ibadan to Lagos and they hadn’t started. Anyway, so I wrapped up my event in Lagos in the afternoon and felt I needed to still touch the school in Abeokuta.
“Only to my surprise to get to the school and find out that the students didn’t leave. Some told their parents that they were not ready to go home because they still heard I was coming down. Many parents were waiting.
“The seminar had since ended for almost 3 hours and they still waited. I was so humbled … Children are the future and we need to instill and impact the right values in them. Glad I was able to speak with them and hope they carry the message as they grow,” he wrote.
In March, Femi Adebayo and his family enjoyed a day out at La Campagne Tropicana to celebrate their dad, Adebayo Salami.
Members of the family posted videos and pictures from the trip via Instagram.
