An Abuja Federal High Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a former Minister of Petroleum, Dan Etete; and a former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Mohammed Adoke.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) announced on Wednesday that they had secured the warrant through Justice D. Z. Senchi.
EFCC also got warrant to arrest Raph Wetzels, Casula Roberto, Pujato Stefeno, and Burrato Sebastiano.
They are wanted for alleged involvement in the Malabu Oil scandal.
The judge issued the warrants after they all failed to appear before the court to face charges related to the Malabu oil scandal.
EFCC had since 2017 pressed charges against the aforementioned persons and Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Co. Ltd, Nigeria Agip Exploration Limited, Eni Spa, Aliyu Abubakar, and Malabu Oil & Gas Limited.
The judge ruled that the Nigeria Police, Interpol and any other law enforcement agency should arrest them anywhere they are found including outside jurisdiction of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court.
The matter was adjourned till July 11 for further hearing.
