Spokesman of Buhari 2019 Presidential Campaign, Festus Keyamo, has knocked Vanguard newspaper over a controversial report published on Thursday.
The report headlined “Nigerians descend on Keyamo for saying ‘Buhari is friend of the poor!” bore reactions on a comment made by Mr Keyamo about President Muhammadu Buhari being a friend of the poor.
In a tweet early Saturday, Keyamo described the headline as ‘bad caption bad journalism’, alleging that the newspaper was bias in its report.
“Bad caption. Bad journalism. This is what we have always complained about. If you don’t want to reflect the positive comments, then your caption should read ‘Anti-Buhari elements descend on Keyamo’. Always remember, since 2015, 15 million Nigerians have been with the President,” Keyamo wrote.
The senior lawyer referred to the same report published by another platform, Punch newspaper, adding that the news outlet reflected all sides of the divide in its report.
“Now, check this👇 caption of the same story by Punch and see the difference. Read the contents and see where mixed comments (for and against) were also reflected…… ‘Nigerians react as Keyamo calls Buhari ‘friend of the poor’ – Punch Newspaper,” he wrote.
