Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, on Wednesday shook hands with the National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno, during the inauguration of the National Assembly Service Commission’s board in Abuja.
Last week, Monguno’s memo to service chiefs leaked over his warning to them not to take orders from Mr Kyari on security matters.
In the memo, Monguno blamed Kyari for the government’s failure to contain insecurity in recent times, saying the chief of staff sometimes issues directives to service chiefs without the knowledge and approval of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The two men, who are both from Borno State, shook hands briefly and exchanged pleasantries.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan stood beside them.
However, Monguno sat away from Kyari at the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was held later at the Council Chambers.
Kyari later beckoned on him to take his usual seat — leaving only one seat between them which is meant for the acting head of service, Folasade Yemi-Esan.
