The remains of the Chief of Staff of the President, Abba Kyari, has arrived Abuja from Lagos.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, said on Twitter on Saturday that the burial would be a private occasion.
“We just received the body of Abba Kyari the deceased Chief of Staff the President in Abuja,” he wrote.
“In strict observation of the protocol put in place for the burial of coronavirus victims by the @NCDCgov and the Federal Ministry of Health, the funeral prayer and burial will be private.”
Shehu also said there would no ceremonies as condolence visits.
“Well-meaning friends, family members and the general public are encouraged to pray for the repose of Abba Kyari’s soul,” he wrote.
At press time, the Muslim burial prayers were being said for the late chief of staff at the Defence House, Maitama, Abuja.
It was gathered that Kyari would be interred at the Gudu Cemetery in Abuja.
