A former member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has attended the Friday Juma’at prayer in Abuja – the first in three months.
The former lawmaker shared pictures of himself and other faithful with face masks praying in a mosque on Friday.
“Finally Juma’at prayers in Abuja after 3 months. May the Almighty continue to ease the situation for us, our country and the world,” Mr Jibrin wrote.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration only recently allowed religious gatherings after months of closure to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
According to rules for reopening, religious centres must observe certain health protocols to protect congregants – including maintaining social distancing, providing hand sanitisers among others.
