Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has denied issuing a statement saying that his administration would begin the implementation of the new minimum wage in October.
The governor countered the report in a statement on Thursday by his spokesman, Rafiu Ajakaye.

He said the report was fake and should be disregarded by the public.
“The entire story is fake and should be disregarded. Our previous statements have made clear the position of the government on the minimum wage,” the statement said.
“Those behind the latest statement, which they signed with the name of the CPS, are dangerous purveyors of fake news who would be dealt with once identified.
“This development, the second in about three weeks, is the height of recklessness and we are again calling on the security agencies to get to the roots of this evil of fake news.”
