Senior pastor of Power City International Ministry Abel Damina has begun trending on X after the general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye admitted his (Adeboye’s) teachings about tithes were wrong.
Tendering his apology while delivering a message at the RCCG’s ongoing annual national youth convention at the RCCG Redemption City, Adeboye said: “I am going to be talking to everybody as soon as God permits me, I am going to apologise for making a mistake for saying that if you don’t pay tithe, you will not be making it to Heaven. That is wrong.
“That is not in the Bible. What the Bible says is to make peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God. What the Bible says is, to follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man will make heaven.”
Following Adeboye’s apology, social media users started talking about Damina who earlier said Christians should not pay tithe because the biblical book of Hebrews amended the command of paying tithe in the book of Malachi.
