Chairman/CEO of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated Barcelona winger, Asisat Oshoala, on receiving her fourth award as African Women’s Player of the Year at the CAF Awards Gala on Tuesday night in Cairo, Egypt.
Asisat became the second woman to win the prize for the fourth time after seeing off challenge from Cameroon’s Ajara Nchout and South Africa’s Thembi Kgatlana.
To congratulate her, Mrs Dabiri-Erewa shared a picture of herself with Asisat on Twitter shortly after the announcement.

Former Nigeria international, Odion Ighlao, wished her more awards to come via a tweet.

Beside equaling her compatriot Perpetua Nkwochaβs feat after winning 2014, 2016 and 2017 awards, the Ikorodu-born star also became the second African player to win the gong four times between 2010 and 2019 after Cote d’Ivoire’s Yaya Toure.
