Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has met with the Togolese Ambassador to Nigeria, Lene Dimban, over the recent attack on Nigerians in Togo.
Several Nigerians were attacked in Togo over a dispute between a yet-to-be-named Nigerian man and his Togolese lover.
The Togolese woman was said to have hired hoodlums to deal with the man.
Unable to get hold of him, the hoodlums attacked Nigerians living in the area.
It was alleged that several Nigerians were burnt with tyres in the presence of police officers.
Mrs Dabiri-Erewa met with Mr Dimban on Thursday over the incident.
The ambassador assured that the suspects would be arrested and prosecuted.
“Those people who have done this kind of thing will be handled by the police and brought to court,” he said.
