One of the #EndSARS protesters Anthony Onome who was attacked on Saturday by armed men in Abuja has passed on.
Mr Onome was stabbed in the Kubwa area of the nation’s capital.
He and others were protesting against police brutality when they were suddenly attacked by hoodlums.
Onome died at the intensive care unit of the National Hospital, Abuja while receiving treatment, the hospital’s spokesman Tayo Haastrup told TheCable on Sunday night.
Mr Haastrup identified the deceased as one of those in the hospital’s morgue but said he could not confirm where he had been brought from.
Onome was seen in several videos shared on social media struggling to walk after losing so much blood from a wound on the head.
#EndSARS protest has been ongoing for nearly two weeks despite the disbandment of the notorious police unit the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Protesters now want a total overhaul of the police.
Attacks on protesters have also been witnessed in Osun, Lagos, Edo and Abuja.
