Lagos Head of Service (HOS), Olabowale Ademola, who stepped aside in December 2016 while facing trial alongside her husband, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, over corrupt charges, has resumed office.
Mrs Ademola’s resumption on Tuesday followed her acquittal by the FCT High Court in Maitama, Abuja three weeks ago in a suit filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The anti-graft agency sued the couple and Joe Agi (SAN) on an 18-count corruption charge bordering on criminal conspiracy to receive gratification in various ways, contrary to Section 8(1)(a) of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act 2000.
It was gathered that Ademola had asked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos for permission to step aside pending the outcome of her trial.
Ademola was sworn in as the 19th HOS of the state on November 4, 2015.
