Actor and University of Port Harcourt lecturer Columbus Irisoanga is dead.
His colleagues, Charles Inojie and Hilda Dokubo, confirmed his death in separate Instagram posts on Thursday.
Sharing a photo of the late actor, Inojie wrote, “A man’s worst fear soon becomes his cover cloth… If only death knew that some creations of God are indestructible.
“Live on master, mentor, teacher, and father to countless children. Journey on to new attainments. You are regenerate, your craft, timeless!”
Hilda also paid tribute, lamenting his loss with the words, “There can’t be a shortage of angels in heaven that the few here are called home like this na! This one is heavy on Uniport, Rivers State, Nollywood.”
She added in her caption, “Our uncle Coli @colu_mbusirisoanga has gone to be with the Lord. Ikoli eh dein na mu.”
Actors Chinedu Ikedieze and Kevin Ikeduba have also mourned the actor.
Beyond acting, Columbus Irisoanga was a senior lecturer in the Theatre Arts Department at the University of Port Harcourt, where he taught acting.
He was born and raised in Okrika, Rivers State.
He gained widespread recognition for his role as the chief priest, Igbudu, in the 2001 film Isakaba.
Over the years, he appeared in more than 150 films, often portraying native doctors or occult leaders.
His filmography includes Stigma (2013), Chike Naija (2010) and Dons in Abuja (2004).
He remained active in Nollywood until his death.
