Actor Lari Williams has passed on at the age of 81 following a long illness, his family said in a statement.
Williams, who was the first president of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, died on Sunday at his home in Ikom, Cross River State.
Known for his roles in Village Headmaster, Ripples, and Mirror in The Sun, his family said “he will be greatly missed.”
After studying journalism at the London School of Journalism, Williams proceeded to study English at Morley College and then drama at the Mountview Theatre School and Stratford E15 Acting School, England to become a professional actor.
He was also a poet, playwright and was active in theatrical productions.
